The Post 20 Twins continue advancing in the double-elimination Alaska State American Legion Baseball Tournament.
Post 20 defeat Valley on Thursday at Mulcahy Park and advances to an elimination contest on Friday against South Anchorage. Friday’s game is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. The Twins will “play two” with a victory over South; Post 20 will face Juneau at 1:00 p.m. in a semi-final pairing. Chugiak awaits the winner of the elimination games on Friday. The Chugiak American Legion team is unbeaten in state tournament play and will wait until Saturday for the championship pairing.
On Thursday, the Post 20 Twins defeat Valley 6-3 on the strength of six, shutout innings by starting pitcher Joey Becher; Jake Conver went 3-4 and added two RBI for the Twins.
