Service 13, Kenai 3 (League)
The American Legion Post 20 Twins kicked off their six-game homestand by splitting a doubleheader against Service on Thursday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.
In the league opener, the Twins were overwhelmed by a nine-run third inning from the Cougars, falling 13-3 in five innings. Matthew Schilling was tagged for 10 runs (nine earned) in just over two frames, and although Gavin Peterson delivered two clean innings of relief, the deficit was too large to overcome. Schilling, Peterson, Ari Miller, and Clyde Clemens each picked up a hit in the loss.
Kenai 10, Service 6 (Non-League)
Post 20 bounced back in the nonleague nightcap with a 10-6 win in a game that saw five different Twins pitchers take the mound. Clyde Clemens opened with two innings, allowing two unearned runs. Malakai BeDunnah, Jett Brophy, Tristen Roberts, and Jayden Stuyvesant each contributed out of the bullpen to preserve the win. Jacob Joanis led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance, scoring twice and driving in a run, while Schilling scored three times and both Stuyvesant and Roberts tallied two RBIs.

West 5, Kenai 3 (League)
Friday’s action brought another doubleheader and another split — this time against the West Post 1 Eagles.
The opener was a classic pitchers’ duel, with West ace John Hazlewood outdueling Post 20’s Jacob Joanis in a 5-3 league loss for the Twins. Joanis carried a no-hitter into the fifth before West broke through with four runs, capitalizing on a pair of walks and timely base stealing. Joanis also contributed at the plate with two hits. Jack Harper delivered the Twins’ biggest offensive blow, a two-run single in the sixth.
Kenai 8, West 2 (Non-League)
In the nonleague rematch, the Twins erupted with a five-run fourth inning to secure an 8-2 victory. BeDunnah threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings to start, and Brophy finished things off with 3 2/3 innings of two-run ball. Jayden Stuyvesant drove in three runs, Clemens added two more, and Brophy scored twice as the Twins improved to 3-2 overall.
