The Post 20 American Legion Twins baseball team completed its first road swing with two wins in three games, includig a Friday win over Eagle River and a Saturday split with the Palmer Moose. The Twins pick-up a pair of conference wins on the road.
Post 20 Twins 11 – Eagle River 7
The Twins opened their road trip with a decisive 11-7 conference baseball victory over Eagle River on Friday in Eagle River. Cody Quelland. 3 for 4 with three RBI, and Paul Steffensen, 2 for 4 with two runs and three RBI, lead the offensive attack. Reliever Austin Asp pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings to close the game (Asp also added three RBI at the plate).
Post 20 Twins 12 – Palmer 2
In game on of a Saturday double header, starter Adam Brinster pitched four innings, allowing one hit and one unearned run. Jeremy Kupferschmid closed with three innings, allowing one run on three hits.
Kenai’s Paul Steffensen was 2 for 3 with three runs, while Brinster was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. From Soldotna, Cody Quelland was 3 for 5 with three runs, Austin Asp was 3 for 5 with three RBIs and Trapper Thompson was 3 for 4.
Post 20 Twins 7 – Palmer 10
Paul Steffensen was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and pitched with two scoreless innings.
