The Post 20 American Legion Twins baseball team needed a pair of wins in the elimination round on Friday to advance to the championship round of the 2015 American Legion State Championships at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage.
The Twins accomplished just that!
The Post 20 Twins defeated South in the first elimination game 4-3 in 11 innings with a bases-loaded walk scoring the game-winning run for the Twins.
The Twins then held-off the Juneau Post 3-2 in the third-place game, advancing the Twins to a showdown against undefeated Chugiak.
The Twins will faced Chugiak at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Mulcahy Park. A win by the Twins will force a second game at 6:00 p.m. Chugiak is unbeaten and the Twins must win two for the title.
Chugiak and Post 20 have both qualified for the Northwest Region Championships scheduled for Aug. 5-9 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
