Two people were arrested in Kenai Wednesday night.

Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the ditch on Ocean Entrance Drive. An investigation revealed that 54-year-old Willie Lee Sikes of Kenai drove a silver 2002 Mercury into the ditch. In his vehicle were 29-year-old Sara Anne Mitchell of Kenai and three young children. Sikes walked to a nearby residence and returned with a 1984 Dodge pickup attempting to pull the Mercury from the ditch.

Both Sikes and Mitchell were under the influence of alcohol, upon further investigation. Alaska State Troopers also report that Mitchell gave false information concerning her identity and attempted to implicate an unrelated person in the crime.

Sikes was arrested for two counts of DUI and six counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Mitchell was arrested for DUI, two counts of making a false report and one count of violation of conditions of release for violating bail conditions from a pending DUI offense.

Both were remanded at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
