The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District reports that most schools will be on a two-hour delayed start on Tuesday in response to the weather and road conditions. According to a press release from the KPBSD, the exceptions to the Tuesday two-hour delayed start include Nanwalek, Port Graham, Seldovia, and Tyonek schools, which will open on a normal schedule.
A two-hour delay means that morning buses run two hours later than normal, and school begins two hours later than normal. The school day will end at the normal time. All Pre-K sessions – both morning and afternoon – will be cancelled during the two-hour delayed start.
NOTE: Parents and guardians, if school is open and you decide to keep your child at home based on weather and road conditions near you, absences or late arrivals will be excused.
Cook Inlet Academy & The Study will also be observing a two-hour delay.
