Two Identified in Saturday’s Kasilof Plane Crash

Two men have been identified as deceased after the Cessna 180 they were flying in crashed in Kasilof Saturday night.

 

69-year-old owner and pilot Brian Nolan and passenger 57-year-old Peter Lahndt, both of Kasilof, were declared dead at the scene last night.

 

Soldotna Dispatch received multiple calls reporting a downed aircraft near Mile 3.2 of South Cohoe Loop Road around 8:11 pm on August 22.

 

Central Emergency Services and the Soldotna based Alaska State Troopers responded to the scene and found the Cessna 180 still on fire.

 

The victims’ next of kin have been notified.

 

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the case.
