Two New Positive COVID-19 Cases

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported two new positive COVID-19 cases in their Friday update. That makes the total positive case count in the state 404. One case is out of Juneau and the other is out of Nome.

 

The number of active cases of COVID-19 patients in the state is 38. The active case-count has not been at 50 or higher since May 5. The total number of recovered patients, as of Friday’s update, is now 356.

 

No new deaths have been reported, leaving the tally at ten fatalities.

 

The total number of tests conducted in the state thus far is 41,446‬‬,‬ with 2,244 conducted in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

 

These cases are reported using the state’s timetable of reporting counts: 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on May 21.
