Two New Positive COVID-19 Cases In Kenai Peninsula

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported five new positive COVID-19 cases in their Friday update, including two in the Kenai Peninsula Borough. One case is out of Soldotna and the other out of Homer.

 

The number of active cases of COVID-19 patients in the state is 53. This marks the first time the active case-count has hit 50 since May 5. The total number of recovered patients, as of Friday’s update, is now 367.

 

No new deaths have been reported, with that total remaining at ten fatalities.

 

The total number of tests conducted in the state thus far is 49,439‬‬,‬ with 2,763 conducted in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

 

These cases are reported using the state’s timetable of reporting counts: 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on May 28.
