Two Soldotna Principals to Retire

The Kenai Peninsula School District is back in action after winter break and will have some big changes as the spring semester progresses.

 

Interim Superintendent Sean Dusek said he will hold two community meetings later this month in Soldotna.

Dusek: “As some of you may know, Mr. (Todd) Syverson is retiring at the end of this school year and we do need to find a new principal at Soldotna High School, so at 4 o’clock on the 13th at the library and really to talk about the process and I’m looking for answers to the following questions: what qualities are you looking for in the next principal and questions might you like to see asked at the interview? And that’ll help us determine the candidates that’ll be brought forward some time in February when we do that, and we’ll talk about possible dates for interviews.”

 

The second meeting will be on January 14 in order to answer similar questions at the Connections office because Principal Lee Young is also retiring.

 

He said the district will work to include Seward and Homer schools in those meetings via Lync or Skype.
