Mulitple Accidents and Icy Road Conditions

Alaska State Troopers and Central Emergency Services are responding to a two, vehicle accident on K-Beach Road near College Heights Baptist Church.

 

Multiple emergency vehicles are on scene and few details are known at this time.

 

Traffic on the Sterling Highway is slow going due to a sideways semi truck. Motorists report slow traffic and extreme black ice on the roadways.

The Department of Transportation is reporting difficult driving conditions across the Kenai Peninsula. Warnings have been sent out for the Sterling and Seward Highways.

 

The DOT reports light snow, ice, packed snow, snow on the roadway, Be prepared for winter driving, Drive with headlights on, Reduce your speed, Slippery road surface, Snow removal equipment on the roadway, Stay back 200 feet from snowplows. Difficult driving conditions are advised across most of the Central Kenai Peninsula. Drivers are advised to drive with caution.
