Of the nearly 10,000 registered voters in the Kenai and Soldotna precincts of District 30, only 36 percent cast votes in the Presidential election. Not surprisingly, most were in support of Donald Trump.
Soldotna voters tallied 70 percent support of Trump with 1,044 votes for the GOP nominee and Kenai’s three precincts totaled 66 percent with 1,349 votes for President Elect Trump.
Votes for Hillary Clinton were slim but Kenai posted more support with 21 percent of their voters casting ballots for the former Secretary of State, while only 18 percent of Soldotna voters supported her.
The K-Beach precinct posted a 39 percent voter turnout for the controversial election, with 791 votes for Trump and 184 votes for Clinton.
The Central precinct, which covers areas like Ridgeway and Kasilof, voted 77 percent in support of Trump and 15 percent in support of Clinton.
Overall, the business tycoon garnered 51.57 percent of Alaskans votes so far.
Absentee and question ballots have yet to be totaled, the election will be certified by November 29.
