Alaska Airlines has added two new university-themed paint jobs to their fleet, representing University of Alaska Anchorage and University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Alaskan Regional Vice President from Alaska Airlines Marilyn Romano said she was happy for UAA and UAF to join the other collegiate-themed planes.

Romano: “When we had the opportunity to add the University of Alaska Anchorage and the University of Alaska Fairbanks to our fleet, we were really excited about that and shared it with both universities and of course they were thrilled. So they’re currently flying in the Lower 48 right now but they’re going to be coming home to Alaska here in the next couple of weeks and we’ll be excited when they get here.”

The UAA and UAF themed planes are the 10th and 11th school spirited planes, joining other paint themes representing universities of Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, along with Boise State, Montana State, Oregon State, San Diego State, and Washington State.

The spirited paint jobs were completed by a 50 member team from the Associated Painters in Spokane Washington who worked on each plane for 6 days a piece.
