A full Saturday soccer schedule featured a sweep by the Kardinals against Houston on senior day for Kenai; a pair of victories for Homer at Nikiski and a win and tie for the Stars on their home turf against Grace Christian.
Kenai Girls 5 – Houston o
The Kenai girls recorded their tenth victory of the regular season with a 5-0 shutout of Houston in non-conference soccer at KCHS. Kate Wisnewski scored two goals and Brynnen Hanson, Chloe Goldsby, and Kori Moore added single goals. According to game stats, Houston did not have a shot on goal against Kenai goalie Maddie Malone.
Kenai Boys 7 – Houston 1
On senior day, Kenai senior Wade James recorded a pair of goals in the Kardinals 7-1 win over Houston. Wade James had a pair of goals for the Kardinals, Bridger Beck, Enrique Mercado, Sawyer Vann, William Wilson, Carnell Gump and Cole Langham each scored single goals (total reported goals equals eight?).
Homer Girls 5 – Nikiski 2
In Peninsula Conference soccer, the Homer girls downed Nikiski 5-2 with Minadora Reutov and Talia Weisser each scoring two goals and Izze Dye adding a goal. For the Bulldogs, Avery White scored two goals including a penalty kick.
Homer Boys 8 – Nikiski 0
The Mariner boys shut out Nikiski 8-0 in Peninsula Conference action.
SoHi Girls 5 – Grace Christian 0
Liberty Miller, Jazzalynn McDonald and Morgan Lemm scored first half goals and Sadie Lane and McDonald scored in the second half for the SoHi girls.
Sunny Miller and Avery Powell combined for the shut out in goal for the Stars.
SoHi Boys 1 – Grace Christian 1
The Stars built an early 1-0 lead with an Andrew Arthur goal in the first half; a late Grizzlies goal evened the game at 1-1.
