ENSTAR met with union representatives today in an effort to come to an agreement over pension plans.
Union General Council Chuck Dunnagan said the meeting saw no progress.
Dunnagan: “After the meetings we felt like we had a road map of somethings we might do, we met briefly with ENSTAR, they were not interested and it was a very short meeting.”
He added that the consensus of the union is to continue the strike.
Dunnagan: “We had a couple hours of very informational meetings and discussions with our members, we had a huge turnout, we had guys from Wasilla, we had guys from Soldotna who had driven in for the meetings we talked for about an hour and a half and we all had a barbecue here, but the union is standing very strong, they are very supportive, and one of the questions was are we ready and able to sustain this strike and the overwhelming feeling was that we are.”
