An overview of the University of Alaska will be presented to local business members tomorrow.

Beech: “So tomorrow we have a joint luncheon with the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce over at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex and we’ll be hearing from James R. Johnsen who is the President of the University of Alaska and he will be giving us an update.”
James Johnsen was appointed as President by the University of Alaska Board of Regents this summer after former President Pat Gamble announced his retirement last December.
Johnsen’s most recent job experience included an executive position with Alaska Communications as well as Doyon, Limited.
Those interested in attending the chamber luncheon are asked to RSVP by 2:00 pm Monday afternoon with either the Soldotna Chamber at 262-9814 or the Kenai Chamber at 283-1991.
