The Alaska Department of Fish and Game reports Upper Cook Inlet Commercial Fishing Announcement No. 6, which restricts the Northern District set gillnet commercial salmon fishing period on Monday June 27th, 2022, from 12 to 8 hours, for the hours 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Current Chinook salmon escapement counts for Northern Cook Inlet streams project that escapement goals may not be met. The above restriction is warranted to help increase Chinook salmon escapements into Northern Cook Inlet streams.
