Tournament seeding is confirmed and tournament brackets are set for the Northern Lights Conference and Southcentral Conference volleyball tournaments, both scheduled for three days of competition beginning Thursday, November 1st.
Northern Lights Conference Volleyball Tournament
The Northern Lights Conference Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Colony High School, features a five-team bracket with Soldotna, Kodiak, Wasilla, Palmer and Colony. The NLC tournament is a double-elimination format with the tournament champion and runner-up advancing to the ASAA 4A State Volleyball Championships.
The Wasilla Warriorrs earn the top seed and a first-round bye into the semi-final round on Thursday.
The Soldotna Stars open tournament play against Palmer in the tournament’s 3 p.m. game on Thursday. The tournament opens with a Kodiak vs Colony pairing at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Southcentral Conference Volleyball Tournament
The Southcentral Conference Volleyball Tournament, hosted by Anchorage Christian School, features an eight-team bracket with conference newcomer Kenai Central joining Nikiski, ACS, Grace, Homer, Seward, Houston, and Joe Redington. The SCC volleyball tournament is condensed into a two-day tournament with a consolation bracket to determine the third place team (possible at-large state berth). The tournament champion and runner-up automatically qualify to the ASAA 3A State Volleyball Championships.
Nikiski High earns the #1 seed from the South and will face #4 North Redington Huskies in the tournament’s first game scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd. The Kenai Kardinals, #4 South, draw the #1 North Grace Christian Grizzlies in the 10:30 a.m. contest on Friday.

3A Volleyball
• Southeast #1 v Southcentral #2
• Western #1 v Aurora #2
• Aurora #1 v Western #2 (or At-Large)
• Southcetral #1 v At large (or W2)
**The at-large berth will be either the Aurora, Southcentral or Western 3rd place team, or Southeast 2nd place team.
The 4A and 3A volleyball state championships will both be hosted at the Alaska Airlines Center on the campus of UAA. The volleyball state tournament runs Thursday, November 8 through Saturday, November 10.
