Volleyball Home Contests Go The Distance: Kards Down Stars; Bulldogs Fall To Wasilla

The final weekend of the regular season for high school volleyball opened Thursday with non-divisional home games for the Kenai Kardinals and Nikiski Bulldogs.

 

Kenai 3 – SoHi 2  Kardinal Senior Night

The Kenai Kardinal girls defended home court and honored their seniors with a five-game victory over the Soldotna Stars in non-divisional volleyball at KCHS.

Kenai took games one and two 25-20 and 25-15; only to have the Stars battle to victories in games four and five 25-23 and 25-18.  The deciding fifth game to 15 points goes to the Kardinals 15-12 and the 3A Kenai Kardinals record a senior night, home court victory over the 4A Soldotna Stars.  Bethany Morris led the Kards with 15 kills.

Nikiski 2 – Wasilla 3

The 3A Bulldogs stepped out of division play for Nikiski’s final home contest falling to the Wasilla Warriors in a five-game match.

Nikiski won game one 25-15 and Wasilla answered with a game two win 25-21.  Wasilla battles to a 29-27 win in game three and Nikiski answers with a game four 25-17 win.  The decisive game five is controlled by the Warriors 15-5 and Wasilla claims the non-divisional match, three games to two.

Saturday, November 2

Volleyball: Kenai @ Grace  5:00 p.m.

Volleyball: Nikiski @ Redington  Noon
