Volleyball opens the regular season on the Central Peninsula on Thursday, September 3rd, about three weeks late, with the Nikiski Bulldogs hosting the Kenai Kardinals at Nikiski High School.
Games are scheduled for: C-Team 3 p.m., JV 4:30 p.m. and Varsity 6 p.m.
Only 85 spectators will be allowed in the Nikiski gymnasium at a time, monitored by Nikiski staff.
Guidelines and protocols for the Nikiski home games include:
Cloth masks must be worn at all times by spectators.
Social distancing of six feet will be enforced.
Screen advisors, coaches, supervisors, participants and officials prior to each session. Includes a temperature check, questions and phone number/email. Information should be recorded and stored to help facilitate contact tracing of a confirmed exposure.
Spectators will also be screened with temperature check and survey.
No concessions.

On Friday, Nikiski travels to Soldotna High School for volleyball, with the same game time schedule. Similar procedures will be in effect, SoHi will be able to allow more spectators based on the capacity of the SoHi gymnasium.
ASAA Volleyball (Indoor Sports) Return to Play Protocols
Indoor events– total individuals should be what your facility can handle with social distancing of at least 6 feet.
Maintain a minimum of 20 minutes between the end of an event and the beginning of a subsequent event. High risk participants, spectators and those that have been sick should stay at home.
Use digital ticketing only
To decrease the amount of yelling and cheering, host school approved artificial noisemakers may be used as long as they do not interfere with official whistles.

Anyone with a temperature of greater than 100.3 degrees or with positive symptoms reported should not be allowed to participate, should self-isolate, and contact their primary care provider or other health-care professional.
