The first high school volleyball competition of the 2020-21 fall season featured Homer hosting Seward in a modified Homer Jamboree.
The Homer Jamboree originally reduced the field to Kenai Peninsula teams only in mid-August; then, with the Central Peninsula moving into the High Risk (Red) Level of positive covid tests, the jamboree changed to a dual match at Homer High School between host Homer and Seward. Homer falls in the South Peninsula division for covid testing and Seward stands in the Eastern Peninsula zone. Both are currently in an acceptable Intermediate or Low positive test level.
In volleyball action, Homer defeated Seward 25-11 and 25-17.
Schools throughout the Kenai Peninsula and the state of Alaska are revising fall sports schedules to adapt to the ASAA Return To Play guidelines and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.
