The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a winter weather advisory for the Western Kenai Peninsula, including the cities of Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, and Cooper Landing.
This advisory is in effect from 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30th to 7:00 a.m. Sunday, March 31st.
Snow and blowing snow are expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph, and visibility will sometimes be reduced to a half mile or less.
Strong southwest winds will develop Saturday afternoon and expand north up the Cook Inlet through
Sunday morning. The worst conditions are expected between Homer and Ninilchik, with conditions then deteriorating north to Kenai early Sunday morning as strong winds and areas of light snow shift north.
Plan on difficult travel conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling.

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has also issued a winter weather advisory for Western Prince William Sound, including the cities of Whittier, Seward, and Moose Pass.
This advisory will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 30th through 7:00 a.m. Sunday, March 31st.
According to the NWS, snow and blowing snow are expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Visibility is reduced to a half mile or less at times.
Heavy snowfall rates will combine with gusty winds to produce blowing snow and difficult travel
conditions through Turnagain Pass. Warming temperatures at lower elevations will likely change snow over to rain on Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has also issued a wind advisory for Anchorage, including the cities of Anchorage, Eagle River, Indian, and Eklutna.
This high wind warning will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30th.
Southeast winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph possible. For the Anchorage Bowl, southeast winds are 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph possible.
Strong southeasterly winds will develop Saturday morning and continue into Saturday evening. Strongest
wind gusts will be felt along the western Turnagain Arm and the Anchorage Hillside areas.
Strong southerly winds will develop late Saturday night and affect the lower elevations of Anchorage through the day Sunday. These southerly winds are expected to gust between 35 and 50 mph, with the strongest winds in west and south Anchorage.
High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Prepare for the possibility of widespread power outages.
