Soldotna’s Wednesdays in the Park are seeing continually growing crowds participating at Soldotna Creek Park.
The events include local food vendors, locally grown produce, craft booths, and a beer garden and live music later in the evenings.
Program coordinator Andy Rash said the community events are gaining attention.
Rash: “Last week we had the Denali Cooks and it was our largest number so far in people who have attended and I think it’s really bringing the community together with the Wednesday Market and promoting a lot of local entrepreneurship so it’s going really well.”
He guesstimated there was around 500 people at the Denali Cooks show.
Soldotna Chamber Executive Director Tammi Murray said the band playing on July 1 is more of a heavy metal genre…
Murray: “We have Magnum Opus performing, they’re a local band, several of the kids are from high schools in the area. They have some great music and we’re excited to give them a chance to perform in the park.”
Magnum Opus will be providing an opening band for tomorrow’s show as well.
