The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce marked Wednesday nights’ Live After Five series a success after partnering with Alaskan bands and food vendors for the first season in Soldotna Creek Park.

Event organizer Andy Rash with the chamber…

Rash: “It went great, I think it was a great fusion of events, it’s great to be able to utilize the park so much, every week it was like a mini-festival in Soldotna, we loved it.

The new event’s impacts benefited many parts of Soldotna business.

Rash: “Well our businesses that participated in it did really well, there were many nights we had a ton of people in the Park and it affected not only the businesses that were set up there but afterwards when people disbursed from the park, businesses, especially restaurants in the area saw and increase in traffic for the evening.”

Rash said last Wednesday’s show by Animal Eyes drew a large crowd but the biggest night of the season is still considered to be the show by Denali Cooks on June 25.

The Live after Five series will continue next summer, beginning in June.
