Emergency authorities from across parts of the Kenai Peninsula battled a fully involved structure fire in the 34000 block of the Seward Highway in Moose Pass on Sunday. Moose Pass, Cooper Landing, and Bear Creek Fire Departments along with Seward Volunteer Ambulance joined together to battle the blaze.

The initial call was received at 1:50 a.m. Within ten minutes, Moose Pass units arrived on the scene and reported the structure was fully involved and was being driven by a large amount of combustible fuels.

Mutual aid was provided by units from Cooper Landing and Bear Creek Fire Departments. One person was treated for burns and transported to an Anchorage medical facility via LifeMed. No reports of fire lighter injuries at this time.

According to Cooper Landing Emergency Services, all units were on the scene for a significant period of time conducting overhaul activities. While they battled the blaze, they asked members of the public to avoid the area.
