Weekend Thefts Result in Three Arrests

Reports from local stores last weekend resulted in three arrests for over $600 in thefts.

 

The first report dispatched Soldotna police to Sportman’s Warehouse on December 13 where investigation led to the arrest of 33 year–old Brett Ruger of Kenai who allegedly removed $220.42 worth of merchandise without paying for it. Additionally Ruger was charged for allegedly stealing $154.97 of merchandise on December 4. He was arrested and taken to Wildwood on $500 bail.

 

Later that afternoon, Soldotna police responded to Safeway where 44 year-old Derek Lincecum of Kasilof was arrested for allegedly removing $257.07 in merchandise without paying. Initial charges are for theft in the third degree and he was taken to Wildwood on $500 bail.

 

On December 14, Kenai police received a report of a shoplifter fleeing Walmart security. After responding, officer investigation led to the arrest of 29 year-old Warren Belford of Anchorage on the charges of Theft IV and Assault IV. He was transported to Wildwood Pretrial facility and remanded on both charges.
