The Top of the World Series is set.

The Peninsula Oilers (#4 seed) will face the top-seeded Anchorage Bucs beginning on Thursday at Mulcahy Stadium in Anchorage.  Following a 4-1 Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks loss on Tuesday to the Mat-Su Miners, the Chinooks were eliminated from the postseason race and the Oilers advance to the ABL post-season tournament.

Oilers vs Bucs: Game One:

The Oilers and Bucs open a best of three-game series at Mulcahy Stadium on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Anchorage Bucs finished the regular season topping the head-to-head series eight games to three against the Oilers.  The Oilers closed-out their regular season season against the Bucs on Sunday with a doubleheader split.  Last season, the Bucs swept the Oilers in the first round of the Top of the World Series.

Top of the World Series Format:

The #1 seed plays the #4 seed in the opening round, the second pairing is the #2 seed and the #3 seed, each playing a best of three-game series (August 1-3).

The two winners in the first round advance to the championship round, another best of three-game series (August 4-6).

The Mat-Su Miners, currently seeking the #2 seed with one final regular season game remaining against the Chinooks on Wednesday, are the three-time reigning ABL Top of the World Series Champions.  A victory on Wednesday will advance the Miners to the #2 seed and home-field advantage against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots.

Oilers vs Bucs first round schedule: (All games at Mulcahy Stadium)
