The Binkley Street Project will shut down construction operations and open the Wilson Lane intersection for Memorial Day weekend.
Project Manager Lee Frey detailed the opening.
Frey: “We’re going to open up the intersection completely to traffic, there won’t be any traffic restrictions, starting tomorrow, May 23 through May 26, intersection will be back open there won’t be any roundabout construction in there it’ll have the stop signs up that were there before so it’ll be functioning as it was previously, so this is just a temporary opening to allow for Memorial Day traffic to get in and out of the businesses there and after the weekends over we will close it back down and get back to work on construction.”
He said that at this point the roundabout at that intersection is scheduled to be installed by June 6. We asked Frey if phase one and phase two will overlap much.
Frey: “That’s kind of at the contractors discretion how far he’s going to close, we probably won’t close off that Redoubt intersection at first, we’ll probably do some construction between Riverview and Redoubt before impacting the traffic at that intersection.”
