Kenai and SoHi soccer teams fall to Anchorage opponents in non-conference contests Friday and Saturday in a series of home games.
SoHi Girls 0 – South 6
The SoHi girls were shutout by South Anchorage 6-0 in a non-conference pairing on Friday. Not only did South dominate the offensive end, the Star girls did not record a shot on goal for the contest.
SoHi Boys 1 – South 5
The Star boys managed a single goal by Erick Mayoral, with an assist to Johnny Smithwick.
SoHi 0 – West Anchorage 3
The Star boys manage a 0-0 first half before allowing three, unanswered goals to West in the second half on Saturday.
Kenai Girls 1 – South 2
The Kardinal girls put up the best battle in a weekend of games against Anchorge opponents; the Kardinal girls falling 2-1 to South Anchorage. Hannah Drury answered a South goal in the second half to tie the contest at 1-1. South nets the game-winner in the final minutes of stoppage time.
Kenai Boys 0 – South 2
South completed its sweep of the peninsula weekend series with a 2-0 win over the Kardinal boys. The Kenai boys suffer their first loss and move to 3-1 on the season.
