Winter Weather Advisory For Freezing Rain Tuesday And Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain in effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, December 3rd, through 6 a.m. Wednesday, December 4th, for the Western Kenai Peninsula, including the cities of Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, and Cooper Landing.

 

According to the National Weather Service, pockets of light freezing rain/drizzle are expected to develop Tuesday morning and continue throughout the day Tuesday into Tuesday night. Temperatures will rise above freezing by Wednesday morning, but rain can still freeze when hitting cold road and sidewalk surfaces.

 

Travel may be difficult. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
