Winter Weather Advisory In Effect From Noon Today To 9PM Tonight For Western Kenai Peninsula

The National Weather Service in Anchorage is reporting that a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from noon today to 9:00 p.m. this evening.

 

Forecasters call for 1 to 4 inches of snow and blowing snow with winds gusting as high as 40 mph. The strongest winds along the Inlet. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The worst conditions will be along Kachemak Bay and the Homer Bluff this afternoon, then spreading northward along the Sterling Highway corridor by this evening. Impacted cities include Kenai, Soldotna, Homer and Cooper Landing.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Slow down and use caution while traveling.
