A woman was arrested in Soldotna on Sunday for driving under the influence and for leaving her 9-month-old baby in her vehicle while she went inside a local bar to get a drink.

The Soldotna Police Department received a REDDI report on Sunday, Jan. 14, from two complainants who reported a smaller Jeep traveling southbound on the Sterling Highway, “swerving all over the road, and striking the sidewalk a couple of times.” Officers were able to to track the vehicle in question to The Bridge Lounge in Soldotna, where they located the driver, Tanalian Alsworth, 35.

According to the police report, Alsworth ” demonstrated signs of impairment,” and when officers attempted to administer a field sobriety test, she refused and then resisted arrest. The SPD report also states that just prior to officers arriving on the scene, Alsworth had left her 9-month-old son in her vehicle in order to enter the Bridge Lounge to have another drink.

Alsworth was  taken into custody and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial Facility on charges of Reckless Driving, DUI, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 1st degree and Resisting Arrest.

Her arraignment was held on Monday morning.
