Wrestlers will grapple for conference championships and for qualifying berths into the state wrestling championships, when wrestlers from throughout the Northern Lights Conference compete at Soldotna Prep School at the Northern Lights Conference Wrestling Championships. Wrestling begins at noon on Friday, January 30th and continues through the championship round on Saturday at 2:00 p.m..
Soldotna High School hosts the wrestling championships, at Soldotna Prep School, which feature teams from Colony, Palmer, Wasilla, Kodiak, Kenai and SoHi. Many of the top wrestlers in the state, in numerous weight classes, will compete for the individual weight-class titles in weight classes from 98-285 pounds. The team championships are determined by total points earned throughout the rounds; Colony High is the reigning NLC champion.
Six wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the ASAA 4A State Wrestling Championships at Chugiak High School on February 6th and 7th.
