Wrestling State Qualifiers & At-Large Selections Released

State qualifiers for the 2021 ASAA State Wrestling Championships, in Division I, Division II and Girls Division, has been certified and released with at-large selections completed following conference wrestling tournaments held last weekend.

 

The 2021 ASAA State Wrestling Championship will be contested at the Alaska Airlines Center on the campus of UAA in Anchorage on Friday and Saturday, December 17-18.

 

Division I State Championships

The Soldotna Stars, following a runner-up finish to Colony in the Northern Lights Conference Championships, qualify 20 male wrestlers to the Division I championships.  The top five in each weight-class from the conference tournaments automatically qualified.  For SoHi, Tustin Keller earns an at-large spot at 103 pounds.

Division II State Championships

The Kenai Kardinals qualify eight male wrestlers to the Division II championships.  The top three in each weight-class from the conference tournaments automatically qualified.  Kenai’s Zotice Active earns an at-large berth at 189 pounds.

The Nikiski Bulldogs qualify eight male wrestlers to the Division II championships.   Earning at-large berths are Sam Yerkes, 145; Jackson Wittmer, 160; Truit McCoughey, 171 and Tim Goodnight, 189.

Girls Division

SoHi’s Erin Bell earns an at-large berth at 145 pounds.
