Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of April 23rd:
- For the Kenai Kardinals is soccer player Kate Wisnewski
- Wisnewski had a three-goal hat trick vs Grace Christian and one goal against Homer.
- For the Nikiski Bulldogs is track and field athlete Thayne Quiner
- Quiner placed 5th in the High Jump with a 5’8” Personal Record jump.
- For the Soldotna Stars is track and field athlete Leigh Tacey
- Tacey was 1st in the 200, 2nd in the 400, 1st in the 4×100, and 1st in the 4×200. He was part of scoring 38 points for the team on their way to winning the SoHi Invite.
