Napoleon Shuts Down Twins 3-0 For Wood Bat Championship

The Napoleon Post 300 River Bandits from Ohio continued their dominance over Alaska teams with a 3-0 championship game win over the Post 20 Twins at the 2022 Bill Miller/Lance Coz Wood Bat Tournament at Coral Seymour Memorial Park on Thursday.

 

Napoleon 3 – Twins 0

Napoleon pitchers completed a tournament run of not allowing a run with a 3-0 shut out of the Kenai Post 20 Twins.

In the championship final, the Post 20 Twins provided the River Bandits their greatest challenge; the Twins holding Napoleon to three runs on eight hits and only single runs in the first, third and sixth innings.  The three run total for Napoleon was the River Bandits lowest in two tournaments in Alaska in 2022.  Napoleon also won the Alaska 529 Midseason Classic in Anchorage with a five-game sweep.

Twins starter Atticus Gibson pitched four innings allowing five hits and only two runs; John Brinner closed with two innings, three hits and one unearned run.  Hunter Williams lead the Twins offense with two hits; Gibson reached safely twice with a single and a walk.

 

Napoleon completes tournament play with a 4-0 record and outscored their opponents 28-0 in the Bill Miller/Lance Coz Wood Bat Tournament.

 

3rd Place Game

Buffalo, Minnesota defeated Bartlett 9-2 in the 3rd Place Game of the Bill Miller/Lance Coz Wood Bat Tournament.
