5:45 PM Update:
The Kenai Spur Highway remains closed north of Kenai because of a head-on collision that occurred just after 3:00 pm.
The Nikiski Fire Department assisted the Alaska State Troopers with the accident that closed the Kenai Spur Highway this afternoon.
NFD responded to the accident between two vehicles at 3:05 pm at Mile 19.
Emergency personnel assisted with extrication and medical aid.
A Life-Med helicopter was also on scene to transport patients.

The Alaska State Troopers are responding to an accident on the Kenai Spur Highway.
The accident is reportedly near Mile 20 of the highway.
Traffic is being re-routed through Miller Loop. Nikiski Fire Department units are on scene.
