Apache Corporation will be conducting additional seismic surveying north of Kenai in the coming months.

Lisa Parker with Apache said that the company has been in the area for four years but they are deliberate in their pre-production process.

Parker: “Currently Apache has no production in Cook Inlet, first we do come in and we do the seismic to help us define where it is best to drill oil and gas. Once we get the seismic done and the geologists delineate then we will go in and drill. So our goal is to get into production but currently we have no production.”

She said crews will be moving by helicopter and on foot to drill small holes to look for the best places to drill.

Parker: “It’s seismic surveying that we will be undertaking. Similar to what we did earlier this year, we were working in the area in March and April and now we’re coming back and shooting a few more lines to help us better delineate whats below the subsurface.”

Parker added that if anyone in the area has questions or concerns they may contact her at 907-398-1883
