The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is accepting water quality project proposals to protect or improve Alaska’s surface waters. Over one million dollars will be awarded to eligible projects under the Alaska Clean Water Actions grant program.

“New this year is additional funding focused on treating stormwater runoff using green infrastructure” said Randy Bates, DEC Director of Water. “We work with communities statewide to take care of water bodies where we live, work, and play.”

The grant funds can be used for projects that monitor water quality, implement public outreach, conduct watershed planning, or design and construct of green infrastructure to address polluted runoff. The DEC states that projects must begin and reach completion within the grant window of spring 2023 through early 2025.

The request for proposals is currently open and the applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m., November 9, 2022.
