Drunken Soldotna Man Arrested For Criminal Use Of An Excavator

A Soldotna man was arrested last week for attempting to drag a vehicle from a shop using an excavator while under the influence of alcohol.

 

Alaska State Troopers responded to a business on Business Park Frontage Rd. off K-Beach in Soldotna just before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 following a report of a male damaging a truck with an excavator.

 

Once on the scene, Troopers’ found that 55-year-old Todd Ross Shumway of Soldotna had attempted to use his excavator to remove another household member’s vehicle from a shop at the location causing damage to the vehicle.

 

At that time, Troopers also determined that Shumway was under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

 

Shumway was arrested and remanded at Wildwood pretrial on charges of Driving Under the Influence and Criminal Mischief 5th degree domestic violence.
