Mayor Navarre Says Affordable Care Act a Step Towards Reform

With the final deadline to avoid tax penalty by signing up for the Affordable Care Act approaching, we asked Borough Mayor Mike Navarre his opinion about the process.

 

Mayor Navarre: “I think the Affordable Care Act and healthcare in America is going to evolve overtime. This is not the beginning of the end and this particular deadline is just one in a long list of deadlines that are going to be coming and going as we work to try to control health care costs in this country.”

 

He added that the current situation is completely over utilized.

 

Mayor Navarre: “The reality is that our existing system in our country is not and should not be acceptable it is way to expensive and you can see that in every budget that’s prepared at the state, local and borough levels.” 

 

The Affordable Care Act deadline  for individuals is Monday, March 31.
