Multiple Agencies Involved in Friday Night Chase

On the evening of Friday, August 29, Alaska State Troopers responded to a disturbance south of Soldotna.

 

After the disturbance, a male, identified as 45-year-old Kevin Asp of Soldotna, left the residence and was reported to be armed and have a revoked driver’s license.

 

Troopers located the vehicle at mile 99 of the Sterling Highway and upon attempt to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to yield.

 

Units followed the vehicle to a residence off of Mackey Lake Drive and Asp proceeded into the residence.

 

Alaska State Troopers, Soldotna Police Department, State Parks, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Personnel responded to the scene.

 

Asp later exited the residence unarmed and was placed under arrest for failing to stop at the direction of a police officer and driving while license revoked. He had no set bail.
