A fire was reported at a residential property on Holt-Lamplight Road in Nikiski Monday night at 6:15 p.m. for an external shop / greenhouse that was on fire.
Nikiski Fire Stations 1, 2, and 3 all responded with several engines, tankers, and medics all responding to the scene. 10 Nikiski Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, in total. Kenai Fire Department had also responded per auto aid agreement with an engine and personnel stationed at Nikiski Fire Station 3 for additional manning and water supply if needed.
An engine crew made an offensive attack into the structure and quickly brought the fire under control within 10 minutes from arrival to the scene, according to a social media post.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
Quick recognition of the fire and call to 911 allowed for a timely response to allow Nikiski Fire Department personnel to save the structure.
