REMINDER: KPEDD COVID-19 Business Impact Survey Deadline Is Tomorrow

Author: Anthony Moore |

The Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District is asking businesses to explain how COVID-19 has impacted them. The survey includes a short series of questions to determine what the impacts have been, what impacts the various federal relief funds have had and what gaps or needs are still out there.

The information collected by the survey will be kept confidential and only anonymous aggregated results will be released. Business owners are encouraged to participate. According to the survey, participation ensures that the state and local policymakers have the best information available when they make decisions on where to allocate funds from the American Relief Plan Act and other sources.

Tim Dillon, Executive Director for the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District spoke to KSRM, “We’ve been working real closely with the legislature and the governor’s office on this next traunch of money that’s coming to the state of Alaska. Although we’ve got a variety of ideas of what needs to be done, we put together a survey and we sent it out. It opened yesterday. It’ll be good until the 23rd of April. Then we’ll be able to take all the information, prepare the report and have it on the desk of the legislature and the governor’s office by the first of May so that it’ll help figure out where are the holes. Where are the gaps? What’s still needed out there? It’s a 12 question survey, real basic information between what programs did you apply for? What worked? What didn’t work? What’s happened with your staff? What difficulties have you seen? Then the second last question is very, very important – is there anything else you would like policymakers to know about what your business is going through right now and the best way they can help. That question came directly from Peter Micciche’s office. They want to know so let’s tell them what it is that you need.

The survey can be found here.
