Today parents, students, and teachers are rallying on the steps of the Alaska State Capitol with Representative Harriet Drummond as a guest speaker.
The Save Our Schools rally is to gain support for increasing per-student classroom funding for Alaska’s public schools and with schools closed for President’s Day they are expecting a large turnout.
The Juneau Parents and Teachers Association are hosting a bake sale at the event and members of Great Alaska Schools along with local residents spent the weekend making signs.
