The Seward Highway has been reopened as of 1:30 pm but traffic is still moving slowly and drivers are asked to be patient.

The Seward Highway north of Girdwood has been closed due to a fatal accident near mile 96.
Northbound and southbound traffic is at a standstill and first responders are on scene assisting those involved.
There is one confirmed fatality.
There is no time guesstimate as to when the highway might reopen at this time according to the Alaska State Troopers.
They have said the current road conditions are very slick with reduced visibility, and snow accumulation.
