The Soldotna City Council, in its regularly scheduled meeting, will address Ordinance 2022-035 regarding Accessory Dwelling Units as short-term housing within the City of Soldotna.
The ADU Ordinance is up for introduction at the November 30th, 6 p.m. meeting at the Soldotna City Council Chambers, with additional public hearing set for December 14, 2022.
By definition, an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a small dwelling on the same grounds as, or attached to, a single-family house. For example, it could be an apartment over the garage, a basement apartment, or a stand-alone house in the backyard. An ADU can be used to house a family member or for additional income through rent.
ADU must provide for living, sleeping, cooking, and bathroom facilities and be on the same parcel as the primary one-unit dwelling.
Ordiniance 2022-035 revises the language regarding Owner-Occupied and Non-Owner-Occupied housing within Commercial and Residential district.
