Northern Lights Conference basketball closed-out the Soldotna Stars trip to Kodiak with Thursday NLC games at Kodiak High School.
The SoHi girls completed a sweep of Kodiak with a 39-28 victory on Thursday to go with a 45-28 SoHi victory on Monday. The SoHi girls stand at 2-0 in NLC play.
The Soldotna boys dropped a third-straight to the Kodiak Bears; Thursday’s game counting on the Northern Lights Conference record. Kodiak downed SoHi 41-33.
SoHi Girls 39 – Kodiak Girls 28
The Stars trailed early and struggled to score in the first half as Kodiak built a 12-8 halftime lead. The Stars scored 12 in the third and pulled away with a 19-point, fourth quarter. Katelynn Morrison lead the SoHi attack with 10 points and Ellie Burns added 9 points. SoHi stands at 2-0 in the NLC.
Kodiak Boys 41 – SoHi Boys 33
SoHi jumped-out to a 15-8 advantage after one quarter; however, a four-point second quarter for the Stars allowed Kodiak to take a 19-18 lead at the half. Kodiak controlled the tempo through the fourth quarter for the 41-33 victory. The Kodiak Bears improve to 2-0 and SoHi stands at 0-2 in the Northern Lights Conference.
