The Alaska Fire Conference will kick-off in Kenai on Friday, assembling over 250 firefighters and training instructors for expertise.
Conference Information Officer Bud Sexton of the Nikiski Fire Department said the conference rotates throughout the state and comes to Kenai about once every 10 years.
Firefighters will be able to participate in lifelike vehicle extrication, helicopter underwater training, live fire exercises and other training techniques throughout that week.
