The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce held a forum for the three gubernatorial candidates at the Denaina Convention Center Monday night.

Republican incumbent Gov. Sean Parnell, reportedly did not take part in any of the earlier debates with independent candidate Bill Walker and Democrat Byron Mallot until after the legislative session ended.

All three were present at the Monday forum where each candidate made claims to particular Alaskan issues: Walker spoke at length about the state’s budget deficit, Mallott’s sharpest retort came on education funding, and Parnell defended his bill lowering the taxes on the oil industry, which is the subject of a referendum vote this August.
